Michigan Alimony Laws and Spousal Support
Michigan alimony or spousal support may be awarded to either party if the property distribution to that party is insufficient to allow that spouse to support him or herself. A Michigan Court will consider the following factors in determining alimony or spousal support:

the ability of either spouse to pay;

the character and situation of the spouses; and
-
all other circumstances of the case.
